Agile Project Management Contracting and Consulting
Agile Software Development
Having worked for ThoughtWorks, one of the companies which led the Agile revolution, I breathed Agile culture day in and day out. Agile is much more than a bunch of rituals; it is a culture of teamwork, partnership and continuous improvement.
I came to Project Management having started off with a Computer Science degree and working as a developer. While I haven't been a developer for years, I enjoy and am very comfortable working with technical teams to ensure they have everything they need to be successful.
The best intentions and the best work aren't sufficient for success; you need to communicate. Whether it's with executives, product owners or team members, communication is key.
Project Management Acumen
As important as relationships and work are, there also needs to be technical skill. Project managers must be methodical, consistent and clear in their budgets, status & risk reporting, schedules, scope, and much more.
Strong Work Ethic
Good project management requires hard work. It's not enough to set a plan and step back. You need to be present, engaged, learning, improving, and solving problems every step of the way.
I hold myself to high standards. If I don't know the answer, I will work to find the solution.
Not only are relationships an Agile value, it's a personal one as well. I treat my team & client sincerely and respectfully, and I expect the same from them.
Sincere relationships form the foundation of teamwork and the creation of good ideas.
I believe in the power of diversity because it's the right thing to do. It also happens to be the smart business choice. In the Information Age, no one person has all the answers, and it's about having the right team to effectively crowd-source the best solutions.
No matter who you are, you are welcome on my team.
